Porto Sudeste launched a new expansion phase at Sepetiba Bay with the construction of offshore dolphins to support liquid bulk operations for crude and refined products. The project adds capacity for ship-to-ship transshipment linked to Brazil’s growing pre-salt output and aims to reduce vessel queues and turnaround times. The structure includes six mooring dolphins, two berthing dolphins and one support platform equipped with electrical and firefighting systems. Construction starts in the coming days and is scheduled for completion by December 2026. Operations will use barges and tugboats within an existing navigation exclusion zone, with temporary buoy signaling approved by the Brazilian Navy. The investment establishes a new business line for the terminal and expands Porto Sudeste’s role in oil logistics and export flows along Brazil’s southeastern coast.
