PORTO ITAPOÁ SETS RECORD FOR MOVEMENT IN APRIL

In April 2024, Porto Itapoá broke its operational records, handling 107,475 TEUs, exceeding the previous record of 106,565 TEUs in October 2023. Felipe Fioravanti Kaufmann, Director of Business Development, attributes this to the Terminal’s growing significance in logistics, holding an 8.5% market share. Despite challenges in 2023, Itapoá surpassed 1 million TEUs and solidified its regional port status through infrastructure investments. Dry imports reached 35,692 TEUs, second only to January 2024, while dry exports were 17,317 TEUs, second to December 2023. Itapoá also achieved a reefer export record of 12,460 TEUs, indicating the Terminal’s vital role in the regional economy, especially for frozen and refrigerated cargoes from Santa Catarina and Paraná.
