PORTO DE ITAQUI CONDUCTS UNPRECEDENTED SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION OF FIVE FUEL TANKERS

For the first time, the Port of Itaqui, in Maranhão, successfully conducted a simultaneous operation of five fuel tankers, led by Transpetro. Held at berths 102, 104, 106, and 108, the action involved discharges of fuel oil, LPG, gasoline, and diesel S10. The highlight was the Ship to Ship operation at berth 106, where the NT Torm Aslaug tanker transferred 20,000 cubic meters of gasoline to the PS Singapore tanker. The work, carried out in about 48 hours, highlights the logistical efficiency of the Port of Itaqui, the largest in the North/Northeast region of Brazil, meeting the growing demand for fuels in the region. The port’s president, Gilberto Lins, emphasized the importance of this achievement for Transpetro and the region. The implementation of Ship to Ship at pier 106 significantly contributed to reducing the time of stay of the tankers by up to 50%.
