CEARÁ STATE, BP FORGE PARTNERSHIP FOR GREEN HYDROGEN PLANT IN PECÉM

The Government of Ceará has partnered with bp to construct a green hydrogen (H2V) production facility at the Industrial and Port Complex of Pecém (CIPP). BP, a global energy giant, aims for carbon neutrality by 2050 and views Ceará, with its competitive advantages, as an ideal location for economic decarbonization. The Port of Pecém is considered optimal for the green hydrogen project, crucial for industrial energy transition. Ian Spafford, BP’s Global Director of New Business (Green Hydrogen), emphasized collaboration with various sectors globally and expressed a keen interest in accelerating the process. This collaboration marks the 36th memorandum for developing a green hydrogen production chain in Ceará, reinforcing the government’s commitment to this strategic initiative.
