PORT OF SANTOS: SOYBEANS AND SUGAR REACHED RECORDS IN 2023

The Port of Santos handled a record 15.6 million tons of cargo in December, thanks to a record crop of grains and sugarcane, as well as an improvement in container handling. The transportation of soybeans and sugar increased significantly. In the year, 173.3 million tons were handled, a 6.7% increase over 2022, with shipping up 9.6% and landings down slightly. Containerized cargo also climbed in December, matching the highest level in the previous three years.
