According to APS, the Port of Santos handled an all-time record of 179.8 million tons in 2024, a 3.8% increase from 2023. Sugar (+17.8%), coffee beans (+41.2%), and meat (+31.5%) were the leading commodities in the dry bulk category. Liquid bulk increased by 1.2%, with gasoline up 48.2% and diesel up 25.8%. The overall shipment totaled 9.6 million tons (+9.3%), with pulp leading (+11.3%). The number of ships increased 1.9%, reaching 5,557. The Port accounts for 29% of Brazilian trade (USD 174.43 billion), with China as the primary partner (27%), and São Paulo accounting for 53.7% of international activities.
