PORT OF ITAJAÍ CLOSES FIRST QUARTER OF 2026 WITH MORE THAN 1.2 MILLION TONNES HANDLED

The Port of Itajaí handled more than 1.2 million tonnes in Q1 2026, sustaining cargo throughput growth and operational continuity at one of Santa Catarina’s key logistics hubs. March volumes reached 382,284 tonnes, while container throughput totaled 35,187 TEUs during the month. The figures indicate stable cargo flows and consistent activity in the container segment amid ongoing recovery efforts at the terminal. Port authorities said the results reinforce Itajaí’s capacity to maintain regular operations and meet market demand, supporting regional trade, employment and logistics services. The performance also strengthens the port’s position within Brazil’s port network as cargo volumes continue to recover in southern trade corridors.
