Petrobras exported 888,000 bpd of crude in Q1 2026, with Asia taking 85% of volumes and China accounting for 62%, up from 52% in Q4 2025 and 33% a year earlier. The shift reinforces China’s role as the main outlet for Brazilian medium crude as the country maintains the largest seaborne import capacity globally. India ranked second with a 15% share, supported by renewed supply agreements with Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum, plus new contracts with Indian Oil and Mangalore Refinery. Europe and other Asian destinations each represented 8% of exports, while Latin America absorbed 5%. US intake remained marginal, confirming Petrobras’ stronger commercial focus on Asia and its strategy to place larger export volumes while preserving competitiveness in its crude basket.
