PORT AUCTIONS TO DRAW R$12BN INVESTMENTS IN 2024

ANTAQ plans 19 port auctions this year, targeting R$11.7 billion investments, including federal concessions and projects in Paranaguá. By 2026, 35 auctions are expected, attracting R$14.5 billion. March auctions feature terminals in Recife and Santos. Major auctions in August include Itaguaí, Itajaí, and Paranaguá. Itajaí’s port, inactive since 2022, faces anticipation due to past disputes. Concerns arise over combining terminal and dredging auctions. Despite the change in administration, port auctions proceed, driven by expiring contracts and sector continuity. Larger projects, however, face delays, attributed to management changes. In 2023, only one major project, PAR 09 in Paranaguá, saw progress.
