PETROBRAS CEO ANNOUNCES FIRST STEP TO RESUME WORK ON FERTILIZER PRODUCTION UNIT

Petrobras’s CEO has recently announced the first step towards reactivating the Nitrogen Fertilizer Unit III (UFN-III) in Três Lagoas (MS). The unit has been suspended since 2014 and an inspection was carried out during the visit, which was welcomed by the Governor of Mato Grosso do Sul and other officials. The relevance of UFN-III for national development was emphasized by Brazil’s Minister of Planning. Petrobras’s CEO highlighted the potential for fertilizer production in the area and stressed the need for investments in port management. The restart of work is currently under technical and economic appraisal, with no specific timeframe, but the corporation remains committed to its 25-26 plan. Once completed, the UFN-III will benefit both regional and national growth.
