A ship has docked at the Port of Pecém carrying 41,854 thousand tons of goods brought from China. The ship transports unique cargo, big-bag fertilizers, and steel products (steel coils, rebar, wire rod, and plates). The items are shipped to Ceará, Piau, Pernambuco, and Rio Grande do Norte in the northeastern states. According to Carlos Alberto Nunes, manager of Tecer Terminais, the volume of these goods is a significant indicator of how the port is doing. He said that the corporation provides evidence of the terminal’s success in achieving more movement. “We are striving to grow and develop our commercial relationships with the hub in China, and the arrival of this many products shows the growth and diversity of the cargo being handled at the port terminal”, said Nunes.
