NATURAL GAS SUPPLY TO INCREASE TWOFOLD IN TEN YEARS WITH PRE-SALT LAYER EXPLORATION

After gas pipelines between Russia and Europe have sprung large leaks, the gas supply crisis is likely to extend beyond this winter in Europe and international prices are likely to remain high. At the same time, the supply of natural gas in Brazil should double in these ten years with the gradual exploration of the pre-salt layer. The prices of the national input will be helpful during this problematic international stage. Brazil now needs to figure out how to manage this supply, whether it will export part of the production or expand its use in thermal plants or even use the input to reindustrialize sectors at a time to rejigger global supply chains.
