MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT TO INVEST BRL 4.7 BILLION IN HIGHWAYS AND RAILWAYS

Brazil’s Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, has recently announced that the government is planning to invest a whopping BRL 4.7 billion in the improvement of roads and railways. The investment is aimed at enabling the flow of the 2023-2024 grain harvest. The focus of the investment will be on agriculture logistics corridors, with a particular emphasis on the Northern Arc and the South-Southeast Arc. The investment aims to boost road network conservation and completion. In addition, the government plans to organize 13 highway concession auctions in 2024, with an estimated BRL 95 billion in private investment. Despite a consolidated reduction in the 2023-2024 harvest, this improvement will help to increase the agricultural sector’s competitiveness.
