MINISTER UNVEILS PORT INVESTMENT SCHEME FOR FUTURE YEARS

Minister Silvio Costa Filho participated in the P3C event, focusing on Infrastructure Investments in Brazil and enhancing public-private partnerships. He highlighted the New PAC’s 2024 perspectives, emphasizing planned works and investments in ports, airports, and waterways. Stressing the significance of port development for Brazil’s economy, he noted record-high trade balances, particularly in agribusiness. The goal is to achieve R$2 billion in investments this year, a significant increase from R$690 million in 2022, targeting dredging, quay restoration, and port structuring. Additionally, the establishment of the National Secretariat of Waterways aims to prioritize river transportation, leveraging Brazil’s extensive navigable waterways up to 42,000 kilometers.
