INPASA FORECASTS AN ADDITIONAL DEMAND OF 954 MILLION LITERS OF ANHYDROUS ETHANOL IN 2026 IF E32 IS ADOPTED.

Inpasa estimates Brazil would require an additional 954 million liters of anhydrous ethanol in 2026 if the gasoline blend mandate rises to E32, based on current Otto-cycle fuel consumption. Demand could increase by 2.21 billion liters annually by 2030 under expanded blending scenarios. The projections were presented during a corn ethanol industry event ahead of the National Energy Policy Council’s May 7 review of the E32 proposal. A higher E35 blend, already included in the Future Fuel Law, is also under discussion among government and industry stakeholders. Inpasa said the estimates were calculated using last year’s fuel consumption data and projected growth linked to higher ethanol blending rates. The measure could strengthen demand for corn and sugarcane ethanol while increasing processing volumes across Brazil’s biofuel supply chain.
