IN THE FIRST FOUR MONTHS OF THE YEAR, PORTS IN PARANÁ GREW 6.8% IN TOTAL CARGO THROUGHPUT

From January to April 2025, the ports in Paraná handled 22.84 million tons of cargo, a 6.8% increase over the same period in 2024. Soybeans led exports with 5.5 million tons, up 10%, while soybean meal surged 21% to 2.4 million tons, partly due to Argentina’s supply issues. Fertilizer imports also grew by 7%, reaching 3.4 million tons. The Port of Paranaguá saw a record 181,651 trucks, surpassing the 2020 record. Most cargo came from Paraná and Mato Grosso do Sul. The Sorting Yard played a key role in managing truck flow and inspecting cargo, boosting Brazil’s competitiveness and export reliability. Officials credit infrastructure investments and efficient operations for the consistent growth in cargo movement and international demand.
