HYDROUS ETHANOL PRICES PLUNGE

Sales of hydrous ethanol by plants in the state of São Paulo remain steady, as many distributors had already purchased larger volumes. Price transfers in the retail link may also have inhibited new hydrous purchases, as a result of the advance in the ratio between the prices of ethanol and those of Type C gasoline, which is close to the percentage of indifference (70%). On the other hand, the demand for anhydrous ethanol is still high, as the demand for gasoline remains firm. In this context, while hydrous prices fall, anhydrous prices rise. From November 7 to 11, the weekly CEPEA/ESALQ indicator for hydrous ethanol in the state of São Paulo was BRL 2.8385/liter, down 1.17% compared to the previous period. As for anhydrous, it closed at BRL 3.2951/liter, net of taxes, an increase of 3.16%.
