HARVEST CORN CULTIVATION IN 2023/24 REACHES 86% OF THE AREA IN THE CENTER-SOUTH, SHOWS AGRURAL.

The planting progress of the 2024 corn season in Brazil’s Center-South reached 86% of the estimated area by February 29, a notable increase from 73% the previous week and 70% last year, per AgRural data. Sowing remained robust, with farmers aiming to finish within the optimal window, ending late February in much of Mato Grosso and western Paraná, and extending until mid-March elsewhere. Meanwhile, the summer corn harvest for 2023/24 in the Center-South reached 49% of the cultivated area, up from 42% the previous week and 37% a year ago.
