The Merchant Marine Fund (FMM) approved BRL 10.8 billion in financing for 15 port and shipbuilding projects, with BRL 6.59 billion allocated to the Porto Sul private terminal in Ilhéus, Bahia. The project is linked to the FIOL 1 railway and is expected to support the planned transfer of the development from Bamin to Portugal’s Mota-Engil. The package also includes BRL 1.98 billion for Petrobras to build five LPG tankers, BRL 1.35 billion for three EMGEPRON patrol vessels, expansion of agricultural bulk infrastructure at the Port of Paranaguá, and investments in inland navigation, vessel conversion, maintenance and repair. Since 2023, the FMM has approved BRL 88 billion in financing for maritime and port infrastructure projects across Brazil.
