FERTILIZER PRICES DROP, BRAZIL’S TERMS OF TRADE INCREASE

Fertilizer prices have been falling and the terms of trade have improved considerably in Brazil in recent weeks. Super Simples is one of the highlights, dropping 60% from April to now. Terms of Trade indexes went from 20 to 10 bags of soybeans per ton of fertilizer, considering the port of Paranaguá. Part of this decline comes from record imports and more consistent stocks in Brazil, while the country is containing demand at the moment. The global supply is gradually returning to normal, on the other hand, Brazil increased KCL imports by 13% from January to August when compared to the same period last year.
