ETHANOL’S SHARE REACHES POSITIVE LEVELS IN THE BRAZILIAN MARKET

According to data released by the ANP, the consumption of hydrous ethanol in Brazil saw a significant increase in January 2024, reaching 1.776 billion liters. This marks a growth of 68.0% compared to the previous year. Gasoline C (E27) consumption dropped by 3.1% in the same period, totaling 2.656 billion liters in January. President of DATAGRO, Plínio Nastari, stated that ethanol’s share in the Brazilian OTTO cycle fuel market reached 45.6% in January, the highest level seen since April 2021. Just hydrous ethanol made up 25.5% of this portion; nonetheless, the consumption of hydrous ethanol is still below its potential.
