DREDGE UTRECHT ARRIVES AT PORT OF RIO GRANDE FOR MAINTENANCE DREDGING

The dredger Utrecht has arrived at the Port of Rio Grande to commence the second phase of the maintenance dredging of the access channel. Operated by the company Van Oord Maritime Operations Services, the vessel will remove 2.7 million cubic meters of sediments to maintain the depths of the channel. The anticipated investment is R$94.5 million, covering external, internal, and Porto Novo areas. Authorized by IBAMA, the project includes sediment disposal in a licensed area. Portos RS expects the activities to start soon after necessary procedures, with continuous environmental monitoring and a water quality program throughout the process.
