DELIVERY OF FERTILIZER DROPPED BY 10% IN 2022; HERINGER FELL BY 1.35%

According to data from the National Association of Fertilizer Diffusion (ANDA) released on Friday (10), Brazil’s fertilizer delivery in 2022 totaled 41.07 million tons, down 10.4% from 45.85 million in 2021. Deliveries totally met the Brazilian market despite the logistical and purchasing challenges brought on by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, two of the significant input suppliers. Fertilizer imports account for 85% of Brazil’s overall fertilizer use. Figures on fertilizer delivery in December 2022 alone showed an increase of 1.4% from the same month in 2021. Leading in fertilizer deliveries to the market, Mato Grosso had the biggest volume in 2022 (24.4%), reaching 10.02 million tons, followed by Goiás with 4.63 million tons, Rio Grande do Sul with 4.32 million tons, Paraná with 4.20 million tons, Sao Paulo with 4.17 million tons, and Minas Gerais with 3.88 million tons.
