CORN EXPORTS HIT A RECORD IN DECEMBER

Corn exports hit a record of 6.41 million tons produced in December 2022, marking the highest performance for the period since December 2015 (6.27 million tons). At the start of the year, corn exports continue to grow quickly. Shipments came to 4.2 million tons in the first 15 working days of this month. The partial volume has already surpassed the total volume for January 2022 by 54%. The superintendent of Market Studies and Supply Management at Conab, Allan Silveira, said that “the high volume exported in December already has 1.1 million tons intended for China, which increases the cereal’s marketing chances in the Asian continent this year.”
