CORN ETHANOL INDUSTRY REINFORCES COMMITMENT TO DDG EXPORTS

The Brazilian corn ethanol industry is focusing on Dry Distillers Grains (DDG) as a key export to foreign markets, with support from Apex-Brasil. DDG exports surged, reaching US$181 million in 2023, and already hitting US$32 million in the first two months of 2024. Vietnam, comprising 43% of exports, is a significant market, alongside other Asian countries and European nations. A new brand, “Brazilian Distillers Grains,” was launched during the Unem Datagro International Conference, emphasizing DDG’s role in animal nutrition and promoting a circular economy. This initiative aims to capitalize on the surplus from corn ethanol production, reinforcing energy and food security.
