COOPERATIVISM BOOSTS AGRICULTURAL EXPORTS FROM SANTA CATARINA.

Agricultural cooperatives accounted for 27.45% of Santa Catarina’s export revenue in 2025, generating more than US$2.18 billion and representing 17.9% of total export volume. Cooperatives were responsible for approximately 39% of the state’s pork and poultry shipments, reinforcing Santa Catarina’s position as Brazil’s leading pork exporter and second-largest chicken exporter. Animal protein remained the main export segment, contributing 76.59% of cooperative export value, with revenue of R$9.18 billion and shipments exceeding 717,000 tonnes. Unprocessed grains ranked second, generating R$2.67 billion and surpassing 1 million tonnes exported. By volume, grains accounted for 56.7% of cooperative shipments. The Middle East was the largest destination, receiving 14% of exports, followed by Japan and Africa (12% each), while China, Central and South America, and the broader Asian market each held an 11% share.
