CHINA’S SOYBEAN IMPORT FROM BRAZIL WAS THE LARGEST IN THREE YEARS

Brazil’s soybean exports to China reached a three-year high in September, with imports rising by 23% to 6.88 million tons, according to the General Administration of Customs (GACC). While Brazil typically exports most of its soybeans between March and June, this year saw shipments extend well into the latter half of the year. On the other hand, soybean imports from the United States, which is China’s second-largest supplier, fell to 133,600 tons in September from 1.15 million tons a year ago. China has currently purchased 54.87 million tons of Brazilian soybeans this year, an increase of 18% over the previous year.
