BRAZIL’S RIO GRANDE DO SUL WHEAT HARVEST REACHES 52% OF THE AREA

The wheat harvest in the state of Rio Grande do Sul has reached 52% of the area of 1,458,026 hectares, according to Emater. The estimated productivity is 3,210 kg per hectare. “There was a great activity as well as machinery and equipment intensity in the areas for a quick removal of mature grains, before they suffer damage from rainfall”, said Emater. As for planting the 2022/23 summer crop, 30% of the soybean crop has been sown. The area with soy in the State should be 6,568,607 hectares. The estimated productivity is 3,131 kg/ha. About 80% of the corn planted area has been sown, with 78% of crops in vegetative development. The estimated corn area for 2022/2023 is 831,786 hectares. The expected productivity is 7,337 kg/ha.
