BRAZIL’S COAMO TO INVEST BRL 1.67 BILLION IN CORN-BASED ETHANOL PLANT

The Cooperative Assembly of Coamo Agroindustrial has approved investments of BRL 3.5 billion for the 2024-2026 period. Most of the investment will be used for building a corn-based ethanol plant within the next two years. The largest agricultural cooperative in Brazil has invested BRL 1.67 billion to build Paraná’s first corn-based ethanol plant. The plant is expected to have an annual capacity of 258 million liters of ethanol and come into operation between the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026. The mill will consume approximately 20% of the cooperative’s corn. This year, Coamo expects to receive 3.3 million tons of corn and roughly 6 million tons of soybeans.
