Brazil’s sugar exports in 2025/26 are expected to remain stable at 35.1 million tons, matching 2024/25 levels and maintaining Brazil’s dominance in global sugar markets, according to Job Economia. Mills will prioritize sugar production due to better profitability compared to ethanol, despite a 1.45% drop in sugarcane crushing to 673 million tons. Sugar output could rise 5% to 46 million tons, nearing the 2023/24 record. Ethanol production is projected to fall 0.9% to 36.9 billion liters, as a 2.2-billion-liter decline from sugarcane is nearly offset by a 1.8-billion-liter increase from corn. Job’s Julio Maria Borges says the sector is moving toward more balanced revenues after years of high prices.
