BRAZILIAN SUGAR FACTORY FORECASTS THE BIGGEST CROP IN ITS HISTORY

The sugar factory (Usina Lins) expects its largest crop since it began operations, with a crushing of 4.25 million tons in 2023–24 compared to 3.6 million tons processed in 2022–23. For 2023–2024, the productivity improvement is projected to be 7%. It is primarily the result of investments in sugarcane farming technology, which are linked to a well-monitored rainfall regime beginning in August 2022 and a 2023 forecast for stable weather. The company projects that it will produce 312.51 thousand tons of sugar and 159.81 million liters of ethanol in this harvest, up 14% and 16%, respectively, from the harvest before it, while keeping a mix of 57% sugar and 43% ethanol.
