BRAZILIAN CANE CRUSH TO JUMP 28.8% IN 10 YEARS

According to the Energy Research Company (EPE) and the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the sugarcane crush in Brazil will increase 28.8% to 751 million tons by 2032, while the planted area is expected to increase approximately 12% during the same period. The projection takes into account significant increases in productivity per hectare, while sugarcane area will increase from 8.2 million to 9.2 million hectares. About 56% of the crushed sugarcane will be used to make ethanol, and the rest will be used to make sugar. Sugarcane ethanol will reach 36.1 billion liters, up from 26.4 billion in 2022. The volume of corn ethanol will reach 9.1 billion liters in 10 years, up from 4.3 billion in 2022.
