Brazil’s agribusiness workforce reached a record 28.4 million people in 2025, up 2.2% year on year, according to CNA and Cepea data. The sector added 601,800 jobs and increased its share of national employment to 26.3%, from 26.1% in 2024. Growth was concentrated in agricultural services, where employment rose 6.1%, followed by inputs at 3.4% and agroindustry at 1.4%, while the primary segment contracted. Formal employment advanced 4.6%, and self-employed workers increased 3.2%. Hiring of workers with higher education grew 8.3%, while female participation expanded 2.6%, outpacing the 1.9% increase among men. Average real income in agribusiness rose 3.9%, above the national labor market average of 3.4%. The sector’s wage bill increased 7.2%, supported by gains in self-employed and salaried labor income.
