BRAZIL TO HARVEST 149 MILLION TONS OF SOYBEANS

Brazil’s soybean output in 2023-24 is expected to be 149.076 million tons, down 5.5% from the previous crop. Safras & Mercado lowered its prior expectation of 151.36 million tons. The planted area is projected to grow to 45.41 million hectares. The average production is predicted to be 3,299 kg per hectare, a drop due to unfavorable weather conditions, although recent rains may help the situation, particularly in Brazil’s Center-North areas.
