BRAZIL SHIPS 88.84 MILLION LITERS OF ETHANOL IN AUGUST

Brazil exported more than 200 million liters of ethanol in June and July 2021. In August, the country shipped 88.84 million liters, a decline of 56.7% compared to July and 72.9% compared to August 2020. According to the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) of the Ministry of Economy, the main destinations in August were the United States (41.30 million liters), South Korea (22.97 million liters) and Venezuela (7.96 million liters). Ethanol exports totaled 1.28 billion liters in the year-to-date period, a drop of 10.7% when compared to the same period in 2020 (1.43 billion liters). Despite this, 2021 is above 2017, 2018 and 2019. Throughout 2021, the main destinations for Brazilian ethanol are so far: South Korea (453.56 million liters), United States (308.85 million L), India (70.09 ml L), China (64.99 ml L) and the Netherlands (64.60 ml L).
