BRAZIL SEES RECORD GRAIN OUTPUT SUPPORTING ENERGY LEADERSHIP

Brazil’s 2025/26 grain crop is forecast at a record 358 million tonnes, with soybean production nearing 180 million tonnes and corn output around 132 million tonnes, according to Conab estimates. Fex Agro CEO Daniel Barbosa says the country’s combination of rising agricultural production, biofuel leadership and a largely renewable energy matrix strengthens its strategic position amid global geopolitical and energy market uncertainty. Higher grain availability is expected to support growth in biodiesel, ethanol, biomethane and sustainable aviation fuel production, while corn ethanol capacity continues to expand, particularly in the Center-West region. Market attention is focused on the upcoming 2025/26 Plano Safra, while industry groups push for broader rural insurance support. High input costs, tighter credit conditions and continued reliance on Chinese soybean demand remain key challenges.
