BRAZIL PURCHASES 77% OF BOLIVIAN UREA IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2023

Brazil established itself as the leading importer of fertilizers in the first quarter of 2023, according to Armin Dorgathen, president of Yacimientos Petrolferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB). Between January and March, the national oil company of Bolivia distributed 82,000 tons of fertilizers made at the Bulo Bulo plant in Cochabamba to consumer markets. About 16.4 thousand tons were sold on the Bolivian market and 65.6 thousand tons were sold on the foreign market; “20% of this amount was meant to provide the Bolivian domestic market in addition to Brazil (the top customer with a volume greater than 63.3 thousand tons), Peru, Paraguay, and Argentina”, said Dorgathen.
