BRAZIL CORN OUTPUT SEES 106 MLN TONNES AS MATO GROSSO GAINS OFFSET GOIÁS LOSSES

StoneX trimmed its forecast for Brazil’s 2025/26 second corn crop to 106 million tonnes from 106.15 million previously, leaving the national outlook broadly unchanged. Higher yield expectations in Mato Grosso lifted production estimates to 51.3 million tonnes, while Mato Grosso do Sul also posted upward revisions. These gains offset weather-related losses in Goiás, where dry conditions cut the crop forecast to 10.8 million tonnes, down 19.3% from the May estimate. The consultancy continues to project a 5.4% year-on-year decline in the second crop. First crop corn output was maintained at 28.32 million tonnes, up 11% annually. Brazil’s soybean harvest estimate was raised to a record 181.8 million tonnes, representing a 7.7% increase from the previous season.
