AMAZONIAN PORTS EXPORTED OVER 51 MILLION TONS OF GRAINS IN 2023

The ports of the Amazon set a record in grain exports in 2023, handling over 51 million tons, a 22% increase compared to 2022. The data were released by the Association of Port Terminals and Cargo Transshipment Stations of the Amazon Basin (Amport). Despite climatic challenges, the region accounted for 37% of the country’s total grain exports, surpassing the 34% from the previous year. Flávio Acatauassú, president of Amport, highlighted the success in achieving the entity’s goal, emphasizing the contribution to the logistics and infrastructure of the Northern Arc.
