AGRO PAULISTA SOARS WITH 5.8% GROWTH, LEADING NATIONAL EXPORTS

In 2024, São Paulo’s agriculture achieved new records with USD 30.64 billion in exports (+6.8%) and a USD 24.99 billion surplus (+5.8%). Sugar and alcohol (40.1%), livestock (11.6%), and juices (9.6%) contributed to this success. Sectoral imports were 7.4% and exports 43.2%. China, the EU, and the US were the main destinations. Although Brazilian farm exports decreased by 1.3%, São Paulo emerged with 18.6% of the total, minimizing the trade imbalance. Brazilian exports were USD 164.37 billion (-1.3%), led by the soybean complex (32.8%), while imports rose 16.2% to USD 19.30 billion. Trade was impacted by changes in volume and price; exports of sugar, coffee, and forest products increased, while exports of soybeans decreased.
