AGRIBUSINESS REGISTERS SURPLUS OF US$ 43.7 BILLION IN YTD 2022

Agricultural trade balance showed a surplus of US$ 43.7 billion in the year, from January to April 2022. Brazilian imports in the sector totaled US$ 1.3 billion in the month, up 11.7% year-on-year. Ana Cecília Kreter, an associate researcher at IPEA, points out that Brazil has been exporting more and more since December of last year. “In April this year, exports were 81.6% higher than in 2019, 52.3% higher than in 2020, and 14.9% higher than in 2021,” she said.
