ABIOVE RAISES BRAZIL’S SOYABEAN PRODUCTION ESTIMATE

Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries (Abiove) has revised its estimate for soyabean production in Brazil in the 2018/19 season. The harvest is expected to be 117.6 million tons, up from 116.9 million tons expected on 19 March. In the 2017/18 crop, production was 123 million tons. The export, on the other hand, has been revised down by the entity. The expectation now is that 68.1 million tons will be shipped overseas, down from the 70.1 million tons projected in March. In 2018, Brazil exported 83.6 million tons of soyabeans to grain. Abiove further adjusted its estimate for the final soyabean grain inventory this year to 5.637 million tons, compared to 2.950 million tons pointed out in the survey of March.
