THE EFFECT OF RAINFALL CHANGES ON BRAZIL’S 2022/23 PLANTING STARTS – CONAB SAYS

Brazil’s North, South, and Northeast regions recorded the highest volumes of rain in early September, favoring winter crops, and the beginning of the 2022/2023 crop. The highlight of precipitation was in the south region, especially in the state of Paraná, with up to 150 mm. The accumulation of soil moisture in the south region was favorable for the development, flowering, and grain filling of winter crops and the sowing of the 20022/2023 crop. The evolution graphs of the Vegetation Index of all monitored regions show an index close to or above the average, which reflects the good development condition of most crops.
