SANTA CATARINA: GRAIN HARVEST COULD INCREASE IN 2022/23

In the state of Santa Catarina, if the weather conditions are good, the 2022/23-grain harvest could grow in comparison to the last season. Soybean production could increase by 28.8%, corn production, by 49%, and bean production could grow by almost 24.5%, considering the numbers of the first harvest. The exception is for rice production, which could have a slight drop of 2.1%. If the weather permits, Santa Catarina has the potential to produce 2,610,176.3 tons of soybeans, against 2,025,910.8 tons in the 2021/22 crop and 2,724,779 tons of corn in this first crop, against 1,829,263.6 tons in the 2021/22 harvest first cycle 2021/22. Despite the small drop, the 2022/23 rice crop in Santa Catarina still could be considered good.
