CB ENERGIA TO SET UP GRAIN-BASED ETHANOL PLANT IN RIO GRANDE DO SUL

The government of Rio Grande do Sul signed on Tuesday (23) an agreement with CB Bioenergia to build an ethanol plant in the city of Santiago. The annual capacity of the plant will be 10 million liters and will start operations by the first half of 2023. The document enables the investment of BRL 35 million through state incentives. Currently, the state produces 1% of its domestic demand for ethanol. The facility will process wheat, triticale, and corn to produce ethanol to be mixed with gasoline. The biofuel will supply the agricultural aviation market and other fuel distributors.
