Rio Grande do Sul’s agribusiness exports reached US$1.24 billion in June, up 3.9% year on year, even as export volumes fell 2.2% to 1.76 million tonnes. Higher revenue was supported by stronger soybean complex exports, up 15.2%, robust gains in chicken and beef shipments, rice exports and a sharp recovery in live cattle exports following the resumption of trade with Turkey. China remained the state’s leading destination, accounting for 30.2% of export value.
