Portos RS handled 17.59 million tonnes of cargo in January-May 2026, up 5.15% year on year and the highest volume for the period in a decade. Rio Grande accounted for 17.0 million tonnes, with throughput rising 5.3%, while container volumes increased 12.45% to 420,327 TEUs. Key cargoes included pulp at 1.97 million tonnes (+15.18%), corn at more than 1.39 million tonnes (+77.9%) and soybeans at 1.88 million tonnes. Pelotas handled 434,744 tonnes, supported by log shipments, while Porto Alegre posted 155,707 tonnes, up 41.6% from a year earlier. The three ports received 1,550 vessels during the five-month period.
