Rural credit to Brazil’s agribusiness sector, excluding Pronaf, totaled R$433 billion between July 2025 and May 2026, down 5% year on year. Financing for industrialization was the main exception, rising 59.5% to R$31.5 billion, while contract volumes increased 17.7%. Rural Product Certificates (CPRs) reached R$185.2 billion, up 8%, raising their share of total credit to 42.8% from 37.4% a year earlier. Combined production financing and CPR issuance totaled R$322.7 billion, down 2.1%. Pronamp lending increased 4.3% to R$56.4 billion. Investment programs contracted 28.1%, with Proirriga, Prodecoop and Moderfrota each falling more than 50% amid high interest rates and tighter credit conditions. Controlled LCAs rose to R$28.8 billion from R$927 million, becoming the second-largest source of controlled funding. Southern Brazil led disbursements with R$74.2 billion.
