Brazilian ports are accelerating decarbonization to meet emissions targets and maintain logistics competitiveness. Container terminals are replacing diesel equipment with electric alternatives, while shore power projects at Santos, Pecém, and Portonave aim to cut vessel emissions at berth. Industry leaders also cite rail expansion, Ferrogrão, bioceanic corridors, and Northern Arc investments as priorities to improve grain logistics for a crop exceeding 350 million tonnes. Greater use of coastal shipping is seen as another route to lower transport costs and increase efficiency.
