WORLD GRAIN CROP 2023/24 IS PROJECTED AT 2.294 BILLION TONS

In their latest report, the International Grains Council (IGC) has projected the global grain harvest for 2023-24 to be 2.294 billion tons, slightly lower than the previous forecast of 2.297 billion tons. The IGC predicts that the world corn harvest for the same period will reach 1.221 billion tons, compared to the July estimate of 1.22 billion tons. Wheat output is expected to stay stable at 784 million tons, the same as in July, but lower than the previous year’s estimate of 803 million tons. IGC expects a soybean harvest of 398 million tons in 2023-24, slightly lower than the previous report’s estimate of 400 million tons, and higher than the 368 million tons in the previous season.
